their’s is a major headache. Meanwhile, there is a real struggle taking place within the citizenry as to the role of revelation and reason affecting all lives individually and collectively. The new rulers need to be aware of this struggle. While we consider ourselves basically a rational people, the briefest reflection demonstrates most of core beliefs come from religion or revelation. For example, our entire society is based upon belief in the sacredness of the individual, a truth gained entirely from revelation. And so, with our other key beliefs.
